Randy Gold said he was leaving a hospital near Emory University when he heard people running from an active shooting situation.
'We were actually exiting the hospital. My father was just discharged so we were rolling out of the elevator in a wheelchair. As soon as we turned towards the exit, people were running toward us, doctors, nurses, the valet parkers, everybody screaming that there's an active shooter,' Gold told CNN.
He said he and his father 'ducked into a hallway' and into the first office they could find.
He is sheltering now at the University of Emory Hospital, which is under lockdown. Gold said he has only received information so far from the hospital on the developing situation.
